Final Task

 

 

Your final task is to find a contemporary political cartoon from a magazine, newspaper, or Internet site of your choice and analyze the image according to an element of Cartoon Analysis Checklist that is most clearly illustrated in the image:

 

• Visual Symbols and Metaphors.

• Visual Distortion.

• Irony in words and Images.

• Stereotypes and Caricature.

• Features of the Argument.

• The Uses and Misuses of Political Cartoons.

 

Follow the procedures of analysis that you used in your discussion Triads. Answer the main questions: What is the caption? What is the cartoon about? Describe the cartoon's visual imagery. 

 

State the three-four questions you have about the cartoon and interpret them with examples from the cartoon and connections to the social, economic, political, or economic context of the cartoon.
